Richard Kinloch – Fashion Designer

So what?

Richard starts speaking about his career in fashion and how important is to be as creative as we can, how long we are students, because in real life, we will have a lot of restrictions, which we’ll have to consider. So, now is the moment when we have to see what’s happen, what people are wearing, how the trend is change and how all this things influence us or people around us.

After he graduated, he decided to go to New York, where went few times as a young designer trying to find a job, but he couldn’t and he explain us what important is to have and to develop a proper portfolio now.

His first job, after a lots of trying, in New York was at GAP as a Design Assistant.

Richard told us how important was for him to do what he likes and he told us how important is to came with a really, really strong concept. The main think is how will be sell it and what make the difference with your concept. Also he recommend us to try to start something small which we can handle, instead of something bigger which can be out of control.

He showed us some of his Moodboards and he explain us how’s working fashion design industry. Which I was really interested about, because I like to correlate and to link different areas.

Now what?

I think it is interesting to start mixing fashion with architecture, as Garry and Interior Architecture did this year. I like this idea and I think is working in bought directions as you can see in next image:
